Supermicro lets you take advantage of the increasing capacities of 3.5″ form factor drives with the SuperMicro Workstation 7046A-T barebone server system. It is based on the new Super X8DAi motherboard and will accept up to 2 Intel Xeon processors with 2 or 4 cores each. To support all the processing power you can install up to 96GB of fully buffered ECC memory.
The front of the chassis has 8 hot swappable 3.5″ drive bays. The motherboard has 6xSATA ports and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10. All these fit into a 4U chassis. The whole thing is powered by an 80PLUS Certified 865W power supply so the system will get all the power that it needs.
